Our Student Handbook tells you what you need to know as a student of Simpatico Safety. Here, we outline what’s expected of you as a student, our obligations to you as a training provider, and relevant policies that apply to your training experience.

How is my information managed when I enrol?

Simpatico Safety Training and Consultancy records your email address and other personal Information (including the collection of photo identification) when you enrol in a Simpatico Safety Training and Consultancy course requiring a USI (any nationally recognized training course).

Your Personal Information is stored securely and will not be disclosed to a third party without your express consent.

What is a USI?

The USI is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that:

  • creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, from all training providers you undertake recognised training with
  • will give you access to your training records and transcripts
  • can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere
  • is free and easy to create and
  • stays with you for life

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI. If you don’t have a USI we are not permitted to issue your qualification or statement of attainment.

What student support is available?

Simpatico Safety Training and Consultancy’s trained staff will take the time to work with students who have identified student support needs. Our staff will make sure training is paced at an appropriate level. Our trainers/assessors can also create an individual learning plan to provide targeted support.

Our support methods include:

  • Help with assignments, essay writing and referencing
  • Time management and study skills
  • One-on-one, in-class support, and tutorials
  • Phone, email, or online support for online students who cannot access the Cleveland Training Campus
  • Student Contact Days

Student Contact Days provide an opportunity for participants to come and meet the Course Coordinator. You are welcome to use this time to work through any areas that you are having difficulties with. Student Contact Days are held regularly throughout the year, at times that allow flexibility for those who have work commitments. Students are contacted by email to notify of upcoming contact days, or refer to our website for scheduled dates. Consenting students shall receive regular Simpatico Safety e-Newsletters.


What if my work commitments mean I can’t attend Student Contact Days?

The Simpatico Safety team are flexible – students/trainer appointments can be made outside of the support days. We encourage you to email or call if you are having difficulty with a question or need guidance with a module. We shall return your email promptly.

What payment methods do you accept?

Acceptable methods of payment include:

  • Cash
  • Cheque, bank cheque or money order
  • Credit Card (Visa and Mastercard only)
  • Internet Banking

Note: Simpatico Safety Training and Consulting will collect no more than $1500 in pre-paid fees from a learner prior to attendance.


Can I obtain a reissued certificate?

Any certificate originally issued by Simpatico Safety can be reissued.

A fee of $45 applies.


Can I receive Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)?

Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer ensures that an individual’s prior learning achieved through formal and informal training, work experience, or other life experiences is appropriately recognised.

We have a structured process that enables fair and equitable assessment of an individual’s eligibility for RPL. Please contact us to discuss the process and requirements.
